Fermentation Engineer

Crysalis Biosciences has an immediate opening for a fermentation engineer at our Louisville R&D site. This position will be responsible for helping build out the company’s fermentation capabilities from the 500 ml scale to the 300 L scale. Additionally, this position will work closely with Senior Molecular Biologists overseeing strain construction efforts and Senior Chemical Engineers overseeing downstream processing to build complete end-to-end bio-product demonstration and execute piloting campaigns. The candidate will be responsible for developing fermentation protocols at scale using both anaerobic, microaerobic, and aerobic production hosts. Once protocols are developed, this position will help train manufacturing teams. Fermentation experience is desired for this position.
QA/QC Lab Technician

Crysalis Biosciences has an immediate opening for a lead automation engineer at our St. Louis 55MM gallon per year ethanol plant. This position will be responsible for running, maintaining, and updating the ethanol plant’s process control system. This position works within the plant engineering and operating team and reports to the VP of Operations. Specific duties include adding i/o points and functionality to the plant Distributed Control System (DCS) and Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), updating the user interface to the needs of the operators, tuning PID loops, managing historical data collection, integrating data collection with the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), and adding other logic to the DCS as needed by the operators to ensure continuous and smooth operation of the plant.
Plant Engineer

Responsible for achieving plant production goals through capital improvement projects, control system optimization, and personnel training. Position is scheduled Monday through Friday but must be flexible and willing to assist in times of process upsets to ensure maximum production quantity and quality, while supporting the policies, goals, and objectives of the company.
